The Detour adds another double cutaway solid-body to Godins growing roster of Performance Series guitars. The short-scale (24¾ inch), rock maple, neck provides both easy string bending and a comfortable, compact feel. A block of Silver-Leaf Maple provides a solid anchor point for the bridge and neck with balance provided by light Poplar wings on each side of the body. Maximum neck/body resonance is further assured by the super-tight neck pocket, which is masked prior to finishing to make sure that there is no paint or finish residue left to impede a perfect wood-on-wood connection. Strings pass through a brass plate in the back of the guitar and through the body for maximum sustain. All of this exceptional resonance is captured by two Godin humbucking pickups.
